Final Round Report:
NSW senior Denis Dale played some excellent golf in winning the 2011 Grange Senior Classic. After an opening round of two over par 74 Dale recorded a two under par round of 70 for a 36 hole total of 144 (even par). This gave him a four stroke margin over ACT senior Tony Gover.

Denis Dale had previously won the inaugural Grange Classic in 2009 and now has a pair of fine bottles of vintage Grange Hermitage to share with many new friends. Tony Gover (76-72) also played some great golf and midway through his final round was four under par before dropping a few over the difficult closing holes to finish with a par round of 72.

Legendary Australian senior golfer Tony Gresham (72-80) could not reproduce his form from the opening round and finished with a score of 80. This was enough to take out third place ahead of NSW senior Vince Clark (79-74) who finished well to take outright fourth place ahead of a group of tied for fifth

Tournament host Tony Mazzone used his local knowledge to good advantage and his rounds of 76-78 were his best in this, his own tournament. Unfortunately he did not win any bottles of his own Haselgrove wines. Tony Kennings (73-81) had the misfortune to finish with a triple bogey but otherwise played well and had a good tournament. Ian Read played consistently for a pair of 77's while Ross Percy faded just a little for a second round 79 after his opening 75.

Round One Report:
Legendary Australian senior golfer Tony Gresham showed he is still a force in any event he plays with a great par equalling round of 72 to be the round one leader in the 2011 Grange Senior Classic. In a beautiful display of golf the 70 year old had a highlight eagle 2 on the ninth hole when he holed his 5 wood second shot.

In second place is another experienced senior Tony Kennings who fired 5 birdies in a round of 73 that included holing a bunker shot on the final hole for a par. A stroke behind Kennings is NSW senior Denis Dale who avoided the spectacular play of the leaders but a round of sixteen pars and two bogies gave him a score of 74. These three will be grouped together in the final round tomorrow.

Perhaps the best round of the day came from Ocean Shores golfer Peter Moyle who had two "air swings" in a round of 75 and his best performance in an Australian Senior Ranking event. He was joined by the always consistent Victorian Ross Percy with a steady round of 75. Tournament host Tony Mazzone was another veteran to show that he can still match it with the "young seniors" with a good round of 76. He was joined by ACT golfer Tony Gover who was very tidy in his round of 76.

Other seniors still with a chance of winning with a great second round are Queenslanders Ian Read and Michael Peeck on 77, a score matched by WA senior Graham Bowen.

Other notables who are probably too far away include Rick Oliver (78), Col Hallam (78), Vince Clark (79), Alan Bullas (79) and NSW senior Greg Corben who struggled with a back injury for his score of 83.

Leading Scores:

2    73    Tony Kennings  NSW
3    74    Denis Dale  NSW
4    75    Ross Percy  VIC, Peter Moyle   NSW

8    77    Ian Read  QLD, Michael Peeck  QLD, Graham Bowen WA
