MOVES TO ROYAL FREMANTLE GOLF CLUB

The 2010 West Australian Seniors Championship returns to the Royal Fremantle Golf Club. The championship was also played here in 2007 when Brian Sams was the winner. The defending champion in this event is Stefan Albinski who won last year at Royal Perth with Brian Sams the runner up.

"I never knew that Fremantle possessed such a spot. Look at the island through the hills, with the ocean intervening; and look, on the other side you can see the harbour with steamers and ships, and all around you there is not one spot that does not please the eye. My word, it's grand!"

Thus remarked a poetic visitor to the Fremantle Golf Club in 1906, after having taken the threepenny tram fare from the Railway Station to watch the game and view the course. What that visitor would see today would be dramatically different and even more pleasing to the eye.

Royal Fremantle is a players course, challenging and enjoyable. Although the course boasts a well-appointed clubhouse catering for the needs of members people do not join the Club for a country club lifestyle. They join Royal Fremantle because the club has one of the finest golf courses in Western Australia turned out week after week for members to be challenged and enjoy.
