Round Three Report:
The defending champion Stefan Albinski has shown why he is clearly the number one senior gofer in Australia with a convincing 5 stroke victory in the 2010 Tasmanian Senior Amateur Championships at Mowbray Golf Club in Launceston. After holding a one stroke lead with a round to go Albinski recorded a very comfortable par round of 71 to record successive victories in this event.
Second place went to Queenslander Peter King who finished with rounds of 70 and 72 after an opening round of 79. Having recently won the ACT Senior Championship King is certainly one of the form seniors and his selection in a representative team cannot be far off.
In a tie for third place were the local champion Michael Leedham and NSW player Ross Bockman. Leedham has won this event on four occasions but could not find his best form this year. Bockman charged home with a par equalling 71 to edge ahead of the always consistent South Australian John Beaumont (74-74-76) who filled fifth place.

Round Two Report:
The defending champion Stefan Albinski takes a single stroke lead into the final round of the 2010 Tasmanian Senior Amateur Championships at Mowbray Golf Club. After sharing the round one lead with Tony Mazzone on even par 71 Albinski returned a second round of 74 for a 36 hole total of 145.
Second place belongs to Queensland golfer Donald Box who bounced back with a great second round of 70 and a total of 146. Tied for third two strokes further away are the early leader, Tony Mazzone (71-77) and South Australia's John Beaumont (74-74).
Another player to break par on the Mowbray course was Queenslander Peter King and his score of (79-70) sees him tied with local member Michael Leedham who somewhat disappointed his followers with a second round 77.
Day 2 saw quite a few golfers improve from their opening rounds. These included Alan Bullas (77-73), Ross Percy (78-73), Nigel Goodall (77-74), Ross Bockman (77-75) and Steve Cann (79-74). NSW golfer Ken Lamb must have found the secret as his second round 76 was a huge improvement on his first round score of 85. Fellow NSW player Tony Kennings also demonstrated his true form with a score of 75 after an opening 81.
Of course there are always those who just fail to find the magic they had in the first round. Tony Mazzione slipped back with a 77 after his fine opening round of even par 71 but still holds down third place. Geoff Everett also dropped a few more shots and his second round 79 was six worse than his opener. Another veteran, Duncan Grant, struggled and his second round 83 was not his normal consistent golf.
Leading Round Two Scores:
1 145 Stefan Albinski 71 - 74
2 146 Donald Box 76 - 70
3 148 John Beaumont 74 - 74, Tony Mazzone 71 -77
5 149 Peter King 79 - 70, Michael Leedham 72 - 77
